With a background leading civilian and government personnel, Joe Buccino has held several positions in the US defense sector. As the US Central Command (CENTCOM) communications director, Joe Buccino coordinated global strategy across numerous regions and worked closely with military leadership and media organizations, such as CNN and New York Times. As public affairs officer with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg from 2016 to 2018, Joe Buccino guided efforts that spanned multiple media markets and included strategies for engaging and educating to help drive recruitment. Establishing a presence for the division on Twitter, he also launched and managed a program that honored and recognized veterans. Mr. Buccino’s experience extends to serving as spokesperson for the US Secretary of Defense. He managed relationships with the international media and members of the Pentagon Press. By organizing press briefings, he ensured a coherent narrative on wide-ranging national security, political, and social topics. When international incidents occurred, Joe Buccino managed crisis communications. He also delivered messaging for a Space Force report that advocated the creation of a new branch of the US military.
